I completed 100km on the Concept2 in 7 hours and 31 minutes, just one minute outside of the planned schedule I had put together. It was quite a challenge and I had no idea how I would endure through the experience. Feeling pleased about that performance.
Thanks go out to the event organisers and support crew who helped to keep us all entertained through the day. Special thanks to Chris Carter who was there to spot and encourage me along whilst ensuring that I ate and drank enough during the event. He also took all the images you see here.
The superb efforts of all those involved and the generosity of supporters raised £16,000 for Guernsey Multiple Sclerosis Society and Guernsey Cheshire Homes.
I was fairly zoned out after about a third of the distance…
The Guernsey Rowing Club team hard at work.
There was a huge level of encouragement from the supporters for all the participants, this really helped through the final section of the challenge.
