The first day of competition here at the FW Balkan Open at Schinias, Greece saw the storms of recent days still lingering. On the race course we had a shifty 20-30+ knots with the second lap of the first race and the third race providing some particularly heavy conditions. The fourth race was abandoned as […]
There was some serious silverware for the winners at this event. Pictures from the podium are for the following divisions; grandmasters, masters and overall.
This was a four day Formula Windsurfing event held in Gallipoli. We were gifted glorious sunshine throughout the event with temperatures of over 30 degrees, something of a change for me having just come from Norway. The fleet went out on the water every day in the light winds, although only on the second and […]
The briefing on day two saw very different conditions. The racing was to be held over two laps of simple windward leeward style course. We had 25 knots of breeze out on the water and a two metre short swell running. The first race was made even more challenging as the fog descended to reduce […]

Only very light breeze was forecast today, the briefing took on a slightly more relaxed approach as the competitors made for a few media shots for the sponsors. All was looking pretty still out on the water for the day which incredibly, actually remained dry for the whole day. This was the most novel way […]

The briefing this morning saw waterproofs and umbrellas out in force as the damp weather continues. Significantly less breeze today after the punishing first day of racing with 25+ knots on average throughout.
